In a bid to restore the Imo Concorde Hotel to its past glory, the State government has again revisited Concorde Hotel Owerri with sacking of all its staffs. The state government which has done all within its capacity to restore the glory of the hotel has gone as far as changing the management of the hotel to foreign partners, but the move which after a few months failed. Renovation was blamed and billions was invested into renovating the hotel and yet they failed to provide generating sets to support the epileptic power supply the Concorde Village face in a whole.
The Government which approved the engagement of a consulting expatriate firm to take over the management of the newly renovated and refurbished Concord Hotel for maximum productivity and efficiency since 2012, only to be disappointed again that all steps to boast the productivity of the hotel failed again with hotel tourism booming in Owerri.
Staffs of the hotel were surprised yesterday as the state government sent an SOS that the hotel be closed today and with all staffs permanently removed to yet renovate the hotel again and bring in another management which may decide on new recruitment.
